Cendant sells Match.com to Ticketmaster

Cendant Corp., New York, today announced its agreement to sell Match.com, an online dating service with more than 120,000 active members, to Ticketmaster Online-CitySearch for $50 million in Ticketmaster common stock. Match.com's revenues come from subscriptions, advertising and e-commerce. In addition to its direct marketing businesses, Cendant is a franchiser of hotels, rental car agencies including Avis Rent A Car System, real estate brokerage offices and tax preparation services.
