Census Bureau trims contender list

The U.S. Census Bureau has made the first cut in the review for a four-year contract worth $100 million in billings. Grey Advertising, Y&R Advertising and Bates USA, all New York, are among the agencies that have made it to the next round, along with a joint pitch from Western International Media and Imada Wong Communications Group, Los Angeles; the Mingo Group and YAR Communications, New York; HMS Partners, Columbus, Ohio; and Montemayor & Asociados, San Antonio.
