Centraal expands search options

Centraal Corp., Palo Alto, Calif., creator of the RealNames system for addressing Web pages, added technology called ``Active Namespaces'' to its service, which is available at the AltaVista's search site or by downloading the software are its site. The service allows users to search the Securities Exchange Commission, the U.S. Patent Office, and the Internal Revenue Service, alongside their RealNames searches, which look up registered brand names and phrases. Centraal also named Barbara Gore senior VP-business development & strategic planning. Ms. Gore was formerly was Web publisher at Netscape Communications Corp.
