Published on .

The Consumer Electronics Manufacturers Association and Softbank Comdex will create a trade show and conference, not yet named, addressing the convergence of technologies in the retail channel in Atlanta in June 1997. The competing conference marketers will jointly market the new trade show while CEMA markets Spring CES and Softbank Comdex markets Comdex/Spring '97, also to be held there simultaneously. The conference marketers cite the consumer electronics and computer industries' merging technologies and distribution channels in starting the venture.
