HONG KONG--A joint venture between Rupert Murdoch's Star TV, BMG, EMI Music, Sony Pictures Entertainment and Warner Group, the Asian music entertainment station Channel [V] has appointed three new executives in Hong Kong as part of a new programming and corporate strategy.

Ruuben van den Heuvel takes on the newly-created position of business development director to pursue new revenue opportunities such as terrestrial sales of Channel [V] programming, merchandising, Internet advertising sales and the development of compilation albums under the Channel [V] brand.

He most recently worked with ESPN Star Sports, another division of the Star TV network. Prior to that, Mr. van den Heuvel worked for CBS, Sony, PolyGram and Phonogram in Australia, and for three years in Europe he worked in the syndication business supporting the Coca-Cola Co. globally in their endeavors to embrace music marketing.

Ann Tsang has been named communications director at Channel [V], a role that has been expanded from the previous publicity and promotions position. Ms. Tsang will oversee day-to-day operations in publicity, marketing and promotions, working with the media and Channel [V] affiliates, and will also supervise the channel's on-ground promotions.

She has accumulated more than 12 years experience in the television industry, previously working in various publicity and marketing roles with TVB, ATV, STAR TV and NBC Asia.

And Andrew Burroughs fills the new position of network operations manager, where he will be involved in the launch of new live programming on Channel [V]. Previously he worked with the Star TV Network's broadcast operations and engineering department and at the now-defunct MGM Gold channel as operations manager.

The new positions come on the heels of the appointment of Steve Smith as general manager of Channel [V] late last year.
