Chapters bookstores teams up with ClickThrough Network of Canadian Web sites

Published on .

TORONTO--Chapters Inc. and ClickThrough Interactive, both of Toronto, have signed an exclusive agreement making Chapters the online book retailer of choice for ClickThrough's Web advertising network of 65 Canadian web sites.

This move extends Chapters own Web site retailing by allowing books to be bought via a wide variety of entertainment and media Web sites represented by ClickThrough Interactive through a Chapters affiliate program. Affiliate sites can select books they think would be of interest to their visitors, and then encourage visitors to click through to Chapters to make their purchases.

Chapters launched its Web site in partnership with The Globe and Mail newspaper's information services division in October 1998.
