The Chicago Tribune
opened an editorial Web site featuring original content as well as stories from the daily paper. The site also includes in-depth information about Chicago sports teams, interactive TV listings and special online-only areas focusing on the Illinois primary election and high school basketball. Marketers including Ameritech
, First Chicago
and United Airlines
are among the site's charter advertisers.
The site will start registering users in mid-April. The Tribune plans to charge a small fee for some customized services starting in June.
