New chiefs at General Mills units

General Mills, Minneapolis, named the president of its Big G Cereals unit, Jeffrey R. Rotsch, 47, senior VP-sales and distribution, a corporate post, succeeding Edward K. Bixby, 62, who is retiring. Kendall J. Powell, 43, since 1995 president of Yoplait-Colombo, General Mills' yogurt business, succeeds Mr. Rotsch as Big G Cereals president. Ian R. Friendly, 37, was named president, Yoplait-Colombo, from VP-Asia, Latin America and export for Switzerland-based Cereal Partners Worldwide, General Mills' strategic alliance with Nestle S.A.
