China presents contenders for global brands

The Chinese brands most likely to compete on a world stage within three to five years include FAW (First Automotive Works), Hongtashan cigarettes, Haier appliances and Legend computers, according to a report by consultancy Beijing Famous-Brand Evaluation Co. Hongtashan, named China's most valuable brand for the sixth consecutive year, is valued at $5.29 billion.
