HIGHLAND PARK, Mich.-Chrysler Corp. introduces a luxury sports car the week of March 13 with a campaign themed "The cure for the common coupe."

In one of two TV spots from Bozell, Southfield, the voice-over says: "To optimize the characteristics of the new Chrysler Sebring, some assembly is required. Insert Figure 1 [the car] into Figure 8 [a twisty road]."

Like sister model Dodge Avenger, the front-wheel drive Sebring is built off the Mitsubishi Galant platform.

Chrysler positions the Sebring between smaller import-brand coupes like the Toyota Celica and Honda Prelude, and larger U.S. models like the Ford Thunderbird and Chevrolet Monte Carlo.
