The deal, expected to close in June, adds the Xtra laundry detergent and Nice'N Fluffy fabric softener value brands to Church & Dwight's Arm & Hammer laundry and softener brands. Combined, the two companies represent $400 million in laundry product sales, pushing Princeton, N.J.-based Church & Dwight ahead of Dial Corp. as the No. 3 in the U.S. laundry products business, behind Procter & Gamble Co. and Unilever. -- Jack Neff
