Citibank assigns shops projects in global review

Citibank, hoping to wrap up its formal review, is using special marketing projects assigned to its roster agencies as the criteria for choosing an agency for its global branding business, reportedly $100 million-plus. Foote, Cone & Belding; J. Walter Thompson USA; and Lowe & Partners/SMS are all believed to be working on the test assignments. JWT, which handles Citibank in Asia and other regions, is said to have an edge. Citibank officials couldn't be reached for comment.
