CitySearch secures more funding

CitySearch, a developer of regional Web sites, has secured a second round of venture capital totaling more than $20 million. New investors include Compaq Computer Corp., Comcast Corp., Goldman Sachs, AT&T Ventures and Simmons New Media, among others. CitySearch first launched its local online service last summer in Raleigh-Durham, N.C., and currently has services in Pasadena, Calif.; New York; and San Francisco. The Pasadena-based company plans to launch services in Austin, Texas; Nashville, Tenn.; and Salt Lake City. It also plans to enter Sydney and Melbourne through a partnership with a couple of Australian companies.
