CityWeb signs Electric Classifieds

Published on .

Electric Classifieds, San Francisco, has entered a relationship with Warner Bros. to offer online classified services on 70 of Warner's affiliates available through CityWeb. The rollout of classified services on Warner affiliates begins in June or July, according to CEO Elliot Wasserman. Mr. Wasserman cited Forrester Research statistics, which project online classifieds to be an $800 million business in 1998, as evidence of his company's viability.

In other news, Electric Classifieds plans to open both East Coast and European offices this year, and has secured 200,000 paying members in its second online business, syndicated dating service Match.com.
