CKS to acquire SiteSpecific

Published on .

CKS Group, Cupertino, Calif., is expected to announce its acquisition of New York Web marketing firm SiteSpecific on Friday. SiteSpecific founder and President Seth Goldstein, 26, declined to comment on the status of conversations between his agency and CKS, although CKS Chairman-CEO Mark Kvamme confirmed several weeks ago that the two were in talks. Direct marketing powerhouse Harte-Hanks Communications, which in 1996 took a minority stake in SiteSpecific that included options to acquire up to 49% of the agency, could not be reached for comment.

CKS has been on an acquisition binge in recent months and recently formed a new division dubbed Global Communications Network to manage its growing portfolio, which includes ad agency McKinney & Silver, Raleigh, N.C.; design firm Donovan & Green; marketing consultancy Gormley & Partners; and high-tech agency Schell/Mullaney. CKS hasn't yet acquired a pure Internet marketing company, however.
