Cleere exits House Beautiful

Published on .

Adrienne Cleere is out as publisher of House Beautiful after only four months on the job, replaced by Jeff Burch, former associate publisher at Cosmopolitan. The original appointment of Ms. Cleere had been considered an unsual one since her previous title had been VP-international marketing at Bloomingdale's.

For the past week, staffers had been kept in the dark and were told only that Ms. Cleere was out on a "personal emergency." She could not be reached Monday either at her office or apartment in Manhattan. The company said she had resigned in an official announcement released late Monday afternoon.
