ClickZ Network launches search engine for marketers

Published on .

ClickZ Network is launching SearchZ, a search engine targeted at online marketers. The site will comb a select group of sites including online agencies, Internet advertising news sites, ad serving companies and e-commerce solution companies. Andrew Bourland, publisher of ClickZ Network, said the search engine will be ad supported, with cost-per-thousand rates starting at $50 for run of site and going up to $100 for targeted keyword searches. Ad rep companies 24/7 and DoubleClick are charter advertisers.

Why another search engine?

Mr. Bourland said SearchZ is a extension of ClickZ, which publishes several online marketing Web sites, including Who's Marketing Online, ClickZ and Microscope, a critique on online ad campaigns. But he added, "It's also born out of my own frustration of trying to find quality information at major search engines. I realized there was enough information out there on online marketing to support its own search engine."
