Clinton asks Seagram to stop spirits ads

President Clinton called on Seagram Co. to withdraw its TV spots for spirits and asked other spirits companies not to begin TV ads. For a half-century spirits makers kept their ads off the air ``for the simple reason it was the right thing to do,'' the president said in a radio address June 15. Seagram said it had not plans to alter its advertising schedule.
