Marie-Catherine Dupuy, founding partner, co-chairman and executive creative director of BDDP/Paris, will be chairing the 1998 International Clio Awards executive jury in New York next month. Given her credentials, that's not much of a surprise, but she is the first woman ever to be honored with the position. Dupuy prefers to be recognized "as a person dedicated to advertising, rather than, simply, a woman," she explains, but that's not to say she's not pleased with the industry's growing promise of gender balance. "This is a trend," she says, "a sign of the times. The Clios are in touch with the era." (IK)
