CMA backs awards show

The Country Music Association, Nashville, plans a major marketing campaign to support the CMA Awards Show on CBS Oct. 4. The campaign includes an Internet program Sept. 27-Oct. 4; a CMA Trivia Guide from Bantam Books; a 35-minute audio movie program heard in more than 6,000 movie theaters; Fruit of the Loom ads featuring a chance to win tickets to the awards; Dentyne gum wrappers contest in the top 20 to 30 radio markets; radio simulcast by MJI Broadcasting; award nominee CDs available to CBS affiliates; and a ballot-style advertorial in People magazine sponsored by Chevrolet. The campaign was prepared in-house.
