CMGI to acquire YesMail.com

Published on .

CMGI, Andover, Mass., said today it will acquire permission e-mail marketer YesMail.com, Vernon Hills, Ill., in a stock swap deal valued at about $500 million. The merger agreement resulted from just one week of discussion between the two companies, a YesMail spokesman said. CMGI, still completing recent acquisitions of AdForce and Flycast, sees YesMail as a way to enhance the company's suite of interactive marketing and advertising companies, said Bill White, exec VP-marketing for CMGI. YesMail has a network of 4 million e-mail subscribers. It will operate as a majority-owned company within CMGI.
