CMP eliminates 85 posts

Published on .

CMP Media, Manhasset, N.Y., said it laid off 50 employees and will not fill 35 vacant posts, reducing the tech media company's global employment to 1,775. CMP President-CEO Michael Leeds attributed the cuts to market conditions, including instability in Asia, declining PC prices and product delays, all of which have put pressure on tech companies' margins and ad budgets. CMP said it does not anticipate more job cuts.
