CMP grows, launches new site:

CMP Media's InformationWeek jumped to No. 1 in readership in Simmons Market Research Bureau's CompPro, a closely watched annual study of computer professionals. The fast-growing magazine scored an average audience size of 201,563 information systems professionals, moving it up from second place last year and fourth place three years ago. International Data Group's InfoWorld moved to second from third place last year. Ziff-Davis' PC Week slumped to third from first. IDG's Computerworld, No. 1 just three years ago, came in fourth for the second year.

Also, CMP has launched its new Web site, CMPnet, as a front door to its nearly two dozen sites. CMP set up a dedicated sales force to sell the sites. Interbrand Schechter, New York, created the CMPnet logo, part of a branding effort to unify CMP Web sites. Ikonic Interactive, San Francisco, helped CMP design the new site. Stein Rogan & Partners, New York, handles print and Web banners.
