CNBC appoints regional ad directors

LONDON -- CNBC, the global business news network, made two senior appointments to the Paris and Munich sales offices. The appointments follow the recent joint venture with Dow Jones & Co. to form the new CNBC and another joint venture between NBC Europe and the National Geographic Channel outside German-speaking areas of Europe.

Martina Bruder has been named regional advertising director for CNBC, with responsibility for the network's advertising sales across Germany, Austria, Eastern Europe and the Netherlands. She will be based in Munich. Ms. Bruder has worked with NBC Europe for nearly four years. She was in charge of setting up and managing the sales cooperation between MGM and NBC in Munich and together with MGM launched NBC's German feed, which attracts such advertisers as Opel, Motorola and Siemens.

Catherine O'Kelly, who joined NBC Europe in 1996, has been appointed regional advertising director for France, Switzerland and the Middle East. She will be based in Paris and is joined by Markus Hallum as regional sales manager. Mr. Hallum will support CNBC sales initiatives which include single and multi-territory packages on CNBC's global network that covers Europe, the U.S. and Asia. He was previously manager, TV sales for France and Switzerland at Dow Jones International.
