CNET adds promotional capabilities of Digital Media Services

CNET, a computers and technology company, will acquire Digital Media Services in a combination of cash and stock totaling about $18 million. Digital Media Services provides tools that enable marketers to offer product-specific promotions directly to customers before and at the point of purchase, both online and offline. CNET will syndicate the tools to CNET Data Services licensees, adding marketing capabilities to its product data.
