CNET: The Computer Network's pending consumer guide site, Snap! Online, slated to launch next month, is starting to come into focus with the announcement of 50 content partnerships. The sites read like a who's who of the leading Web publishers. The "showcase portal" sites to be featured prominently on each of Snap!'s "channel" sub-sites include CNN Interactive, CBS SportsLine, E! Online, Arthur Frommer's Outspoken Encyclopedia of Travel, Inc. Online, Discovery Channel Online, Microsoft Investor, MSNBC and iQVC. Other partner content categories will include food, wine, crafts, science, careers, company profiles, realty, maps, ecology, weather, horoscopes, classifieds, phone listings, lottery numbers and more. No money exchanged hands in choosing the content partners, said Tom Melcher, general manager of Snap! "One of the reasons users will use us on a daily basis is that we employ professional journalists to make editorial choices of what's good," he said.
