CNET buys e-commerce company

Published on .

CNET acquired NetVentures, which runs ShopBuilder, an online-store creation service. The deal was a straight stock swap, with CNET issuing about 100,000 common shares for all of NetVentures' stock.

CNET plans to use NetVentures to allow resellers of unbranded computer systems to build online stores and take advantage Shopper.com, CNET's online store.
