CNET Networks forms European Sales networks

CNET Networks is creating a European sales network organization, based in London, to promote the avantages of cross-border advertising to its European customers. The news coincides with the global launch of ad units on CNET's News.com and ZDNet News sites. Oracle, Broadbase, IBM Corp., Morgan Stanley Dean Witter, Nextel, PeopleSoft, Sun Microsystems and Visual Insights are among the initial marketers using the online ad format (AdAge.com, Jan. 24, 2001). European-based advertisers will be able to place ads on ZDNet or CNET.com in North America, Latin America, Europe and Asia via the new European sales force. CNET Networks plans to expand its global advertising sales network in phases during 2001. CNET named Shobhan Gajjar VP-European sales and managing director of CNET Networks U.K., and Martin Taylor, sales director.
