CNET reports earnings, splits stock

CNET, San Francisco, reported net income of $3.4 million, or 9 cents per share, for the first quarter ended March 31, compared with a net loss of $5.7 million, or 19 cents per share, for the first quarter of 1998. Revenue for the period was $19.6 million, double revenue of $9.8 million for the same period in 1998. Also, CNET announced a two-for-one stock split payable in a stock dividend.
