Coco's restaurants named Foote, Cone & Belding, Chicago, to handle creative and media buying responsibilities for the 450-unit chain. FCB's Santa Ana, Calif., office will also oversee media buying for Coco's sister concept, Carrows. Both chains are owned by Flagstar Cos. FCB was already agency of record for Flagstar's El Pollo Loco chain. Cohen & Johnson, Los Angeles, continues as creative agency for Carrows. Coco's and Carrows spent $6.9 million and $4.5 million, respectively, on advertising last year, according to Competitive Media Reporting.
