Coco's taps JWT

Coco's, a 481-unit family-dining chain based in Irvine, Calif., tapped J. Walter Thompson USA, San Francisco, to handle its estimated $8 million account following a closed two-month review that was conducted in-house. Campbell-Ewald, Los Angeles, which had the business for about one year, declined to participate. Coco's is a division of Advantica Restaurant Group, parent of Denny's. JWT's first work, slated for later this year, will be part of an upgrading of the 50-year-old concept's image, a spokeswoman said.
