NEW YORK (AdAge.com) -- Coca-Cola Co., Atlanta, has signed an agreement to buy Odwalla, a high-end juice company that markets Fresh Samantha and Odwalla brands, for about $181 million, the juice company said today.

Odwalla will become a separate unit of Coca-Cola’s Minute Maid Co. The juice maker's management is expected to remain the same.

Odwalla markets super-premium lines of juices, smoothies, dairy-free shakes, spring water and natural food bars under the Odwalla and Fresh Samantha names.

The company says the brands are distributed in more than 5,000 retail locations including supermarkets, natural food stores, warehouse outlets, convenience stores and online grocers.
