Boxing Great to Help With Community Efforts

NEW YORK (AdAge.com) -- Beverage giant Coca-Cola Co., Atlanta, has inked an agreement with boxing legend Muhammad Ali that will include numerous marketing initiatives.

The soft-drink giant said today its community and youth development programs around the world, including its global sports properties and brands, will benefit from the deal.

"Our partnership with Muhammad Ali, one of America's great heroes who transcends nationalities and cultures, is an innovative marketing agreement that connects us with consumers all around the world and will benefit the communities of which we are a part," said Doug Daft, chairman-CEO of Coke.

Mr. Ali is an Olympic gold medalist and winner of several heavyweight championships who also suffers from Parkinson's syndrome.

Financial terms of the agreement were not disclosed.
