Coke kicking off promo with Cowboys star

Coca-Cola Co. next week will announce details of its 1995 National Football League marketing activities, including a consumer promotion built around Dallas Cowboys star Emmitt Smith in the wake of Coca-Cola's controversial marketing deal with Cowboys owner Jerry Jones. Starting Oct. 2, specially marked bottles of Coca-Cola products will offer discounts on special "Emmitt Zone'' apparel from Starter Corp. Coca-Cola will support with in-store point of purchase and advertising from McCann-Erickson Worldwide, New York.
