Coca-Cola Co., Atlanta, assigned creative work for Coca-Cola Classic to Cliff Freeman
& Partners, New York, following presentations last Friday, said persons close to the decision. The agency was chosen over other roster shops Leo Burnett
USA, Chicago; D'Arcy Masius Benton & Bowles, New York; and McCann-Erickson Worldwide, New York. Cliff Freeman, agency chairman-chief creative officer; Arthur Bijour, president; and Karen Evans, exec VP-director of account planning, made the presentation. While an executive with knowledge of the pitch said the assignment was for a tactical execution to expand the "Enjoy" campaign, other observers believe the review was assigned to preview a replacement campaign. Ian Rowden, Coca-Cola VP-consumer communications, had denied there would be any roster changes, but Steven Jones, chief marketing officer, and other senior executives are said to be dissatisfied with the "Enjoy" campaign created by Coca-Cola roster agencies.
