Colgate-Palmolive Co. said it will cut 3,000 jobs, or about 8.5% of its worldwide workforce. The company said the layoffs will result in an after-tax charge of $369 million. That, plus losses in its Mexican operations, will result in a third-quarter loss, Colgate said. Most of the staff reductions will come in the U.S. and Europe.
