ColorStay ads pass muster

Ads for Revlon's ColorStay foundation makeup passed review by the National Advertising Division of the Council of Better Business Bureaus. NAD said Revlon has a reasonable basis for claims that ColorStay is a unique transfer-resistant formulation, but said Revlon agreed that future ads "will more clearly communicate its product's intended degree of resistance." The review followed a challenge by Procter & Gamble Co.'s cosmetics and fragrance products unit. Tarlow Advertising, New York, is the Revlon agency.
