Commercials cost dips

The average cost to produce a 30-second national TV commercial dropped 2% last year, the first decrease in nine years, according to a survey of members by the American Association of Advertising Agencies. The average last year was $263,000; the average the year before--$268,000--represented an 11% increase over 1993. The Four A's said 72% of national commercials produced last year were 30 seconds in length.
