Compaq lines up Web partners for Presario

Published on .

Compaq Computer Corp. June 9 named the Internet partners integrated into its Presario Internet PCs, expected out this fall. The new Presario keyboard will have buttons designed for accessing e-mail, shopping services and search services. Digital Equipment Corp., which Compaq will formally acquire June 11, will be on the "search button," while Yahoo! is the default Internet button, posting its MyYahoo! start page. In addition, chat site Talk City and online events guide OnNow, which are both part of Internet content studio LiveWorld Production, will be part of Presario's Exploration Zone, a guide to the Internet and the Presario PC. Partnering companies pay Compaq a bounty for users who access their sites from Compaq.
