CompUSA said sales in stores open at least a year edged up 1.5% in the second fiscal quarter ended Dec. 28 vs. the same period a year earlier. The PC retailer cited a "softening" of retail sales "towards the end of the holiday season," confirming the industrywide retail slump. Same-store sales growth slowed significantly from earlier in the year; same-store sales in the first two quarters were up 4.1%. Overall sales increased 22% to $1.2 billion.
