CompuServe ends talks to buy into Europe Online

Published on .

CompuServe ends talks to buy a stake in ailing Internet-service provider Europe Online; the U.S. company's U.K. office said there was not sufficient time to agree terms before yesterday morning's (August 2) deadline for the rescue, imposed by the Luxembourg Court of Commerce, where Europe Online had filed for bankruptcy protection; the German company Deutsche Telekom was also interested in buying a stake.
