CompuServe expands rebate program, unveils upgrade

CompuServe, a subsidiary of America Online, announced an expanded rebate program and the introduction of an upgrade to its CompuServe 2000 Internet service. CompuServe is teaming up with CompUSA to offer instant rebates to consumers who sign up for CompuServe 2000 Premier at $21.95 per month. These rebates complement rebate programs with retailers including Circuit City, Office Max, and CompUSA, as well as PC manufacturers Hewlett-Packard Co., Compaq Corp., and IBM Corp. CompuServe also announced a new deal with AAA to market a custom, co-branded and discounted AAA/CompuServe Internet service to AAA's members. The new version of CompuServe 2000 includes a redesigned main menu, two additional member names per account, expanded search capabilities and Shop@CompuServe.
