CompuServe hooks European manager from Europe Online

Published on .

U.S. Internet service provider CompuServe has recruited the managing director, U.K. operations of its now defunct rival Europe Online as European general manager.

Jerry Roest, who spent the past 12 months at EOL on secondment from multi-media publisher Pearson, was previously responsible for the online business information service FT Profile. He replaces Andrew Gray, who left several months ago, and he reports to International President Steven Stanbrook.

Three CompuServe European Regional Managers - Martin Turner (UK region), Felix Somm (German region) and Bertrand Usunier (French region) - now report to Roest, who will operate out of the Reading, Berkshire-based U.K. office.
