CompuServe, IBM partner to launch two promotions

CompuServe, a subsidiary of America Online, has launched a "Back to School" promotion with IBM that includes free, unlimited membership to the CompuServe 2000 service and the Internet for six months to IBM customers who buy select Aptiva or i Series ThinkPad computers. The promotion is planned for purchases made from July 11 to Oct. 2, 1999, and consumers must sign up for CompuServe 2000 by Nov. 1, 1999. In addition, consumers who sign up for a three-year membership to the new and improved CompuServe 2000 Premier Internet will receive a mail-in rebate of $400 in connection with the purchase of an IBM Aptiva and monitor or an i Series ThinkPad notebook.
