CompuServe reaches out to "parrot heads"

Published on .

CompuServe will give Jimmy Buffett fans a chance to chat with the singer during a 1-hour pre-concert session on May 29. Web users can join the chat from the CompuServe Web site or Mr. Buffett's own site, Margaritaville. Mr. Buffett kicks off his summer tour that day with a concert in Toronto; audio clips from the concert and his new album will be available online as well.

CompuServe touts the event as a demonstration of the enhanced capabilities it will offer as it makes a switch to an Internet-based platform. CompuServe will use Enhanced CU-SeeMe technology to provide real-time audio and video of the chat.
