CompuServe, which recently ended acquisition talks with America Online, on Wednesday will unveil a redesigned version of its online service, CSi. The redesign separates CSi into 21 menu-driven CSi Communities, including News and Weather, Business, Investing, Personal Finance and Computing Support. Each Community features CSi Forums, where members with similar interests can gather. In a model similar to the one being promoted by Scott Kurnit's The Mining Co., each forum has a "SysOp," or system operator, who manages the forum.

The announcement seems to suggest CompuServe is proceeding with plans to restructure its online service to focus on business users. Those plans were made public several months ago but have slowed amid word of financial difficulties at CompuServe.
