Conde Nast's Kliger to 'Parade'

Published on .

Conde Nast Publications Exec VP Jack Kliger is moving to Sunday magazine Parade as exec VP. Advance Publications' Parade and Conde Nast Publications are both Newhouse-owned. At Conde Nast, Mr. Kliger was one of three exec VPs reporting to President-CEO Steven Florio. At Parade, industry sources see Mr. Kliger as a likely successor to longtime Chairman and Publisher Carlo Vittorini. Both Mr. Vittorini and Parade President John Beni are near retirement age, although neither has indicated he is ready to take that step. Ad pages for Parade for January through April are up 8.8% over last year, according to Publishers Information Bureau figures. Mr. Kliger, named exec VP at Conde Nast in September, 1994, had also served as senior VP-corporate sales and as publisher of Glamour and GQ.
