More consumers plan online holiday shopping sprees; spending to average $560

Web merchants will see more green this holiday season, as online shoppers plan to make 35% of their holiday purchases on the Internet, almost three times last year's figure of 12%, according to a survey by LinkShare Corp. and BizRate.com. The survey of nearly 5,900 online shoppers also found that 37% plan to make at least half of their holiday purchases online; the average online holiday expenditure will be about $560.
