Converse is lacing up a back-to-school ad push from agency Houston Effler Herstek Favat, Boston. A new spot breaking Monday features National Basketball Association star Kevin Johnson in support of Converse's new R.A.W. Energy basketball shoe. It will run on ESPN, MTV and syndicated TV programs for four weeks. Converse also this week introduces a 30-second claymation spot on Nickelodeon for its Touch-EFX collection for kids. The shoes house crystal pods containing a liquid that changes colors when touched from the outside, or when a child wiggles his or her toes.
