Cox taps IBM for Net access

Cox Enterprises will offer its local customers Internet access through an agreement with IBM Corp. IBM will provide dial-up access, customer support, billing and e-mail. Cox will brand and market the access service in local markets. The company also will construct Web sites tied to various communities, such as Austin 360, a site devoted to the Austin, Texas, area and built off of Cox Newspapers' Austin American-Statesman newspaper.
